A couple of weeks back I decided to pick up MAC Crosswires during a day-trip to Manchester to spend some of my birthday money. Seeing as I’m getting on a bit now, closer to 30 than 20 *sob*, I thought I would treat myself to a new lipstick. It’s so strange, just over a year ago I barely wore lipstick except on a night out, now if I’m wearing make-up I rarely go without a bit of lipstick.
Anyway, Crosswires is from MAC’s Cremesheen range so it gives a reasonable wash of colour, goes on creamy and has a slight sheen. In the bullet it looks slightly orange but this translates to a pinky orange on the lips which I really love. I bought Vegas Volt a while back and whilst it looks amazing on others, it’s just that little bit too orange for me, Crosswires is more friendly if you do like the orange trend at the moment but aren’t brave enough to go for a full on bright colour!
Another plus point is this doesn’t look out of place at the office so you can get maximum usage out of it. I hate buying lipsticks that I can only use at weekends, especially when they’re £15 a pop. I usually apply at about 7:45 am and it lasts me through several morning cups of tea till about 11am, so decent staying power too. My new favourite lipstick.
